Ocean-front historic re-construction…what’s what?

November 1, 2024 by Blogfinger

Ocean front historic  house being restored  at Olin and Ocean. Ocean Grove, NJ, USA. Paul Goldfinger photograph 11/1/24

A person who works nearby alerted us to this  project at the corner of Olin and Ocean Avenues.

It seems that three  brothers bought the property with plans to return it to its original design. Some of you may recall that the house was yellow.  We have no other information including the new garage component  on Olin.

To the left is the Shawmont Hotel from 1871.

Do any of you have a photograph of the original site?

We have a Blogfinger post by Rich Amole, who wrote an extensive history of the Shawmont, and in the post linked below,  you get an idea of what the site currently being worked on looked like in the 19th century.
