Some have faith:

But is that sufficient for the rest of us?

Melissa: You have an interesting idea, but it is a fantasy. You know that the CMA owns the land, so what would you do with them as you create a democratic gated community?

But I was thinking of another fantasy—-Go to court and force the CMA to sell all their property. Like Woody Allen, turn the Auditorium into a hotel. A rich corporation like a hedge fund could buy the land.

The CMA could take the money and buy a huge property somewhere in the sticks, a la Waco. Then they could have all the mega events they wish; invite the world if they wanted.

And OG would then become an American/Jersey Shore town with plenty of parking and no tourism. The biggest yearly event would be our annual Girls in Their Summer Clothes parade.

And, of course, we would be our own town, permanently separated from Neptune.

    Less is more!

The church owns the land; we pay taxes and lease the land from the church.

Why can’t we become a private gated community during this crisis?
It was before. Let’s go back to the original plan of the gates: Only residents allowed in and only residents on the beach.

I don’t agree advertising our dilemma to the Asbury Park Press. It will signal everyone who doesn’t know yet about our open boardwalk and beaches to come here.

They are out of their ever-lovin’ minds. On the first sunny weekend after Memorial Day, the parkway will be filled with cars headed down the Shore, and we’re the first open beach after exit 129…We need to go to a higher authority, and I don’t mean the Almighty…PS – Next Door has quite the conversation going on about this.
