Olivia Latry is 62 years old and famous around the world. He has performed on all the most acclaimed organs that exist, and now he will take the OG Hope-Jones organ on a ride into space in the Great Auditorium .
Mr Latry is Professor of Organ at the Paris Conservatory. His home instrument is the Great Organ in the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. In April 2019, Notre Dame was severely damaged in a fire. The Great Organ was not directly damaged, but harmful toxins threatened the instrument, and since 2020, after it was dismantled, it has been undergoing meticulous cleaning, tuning, etc. The restoration is to be completed at the end of 2024.
Do not miss this very important concert on 6/26/24 at 7:30 pm. It is a Wednesday.
Mr Latry published an album called Bach to the Future. Here is a portion of that called “Fuge G-Moll BWV. 578”.
