An early springtime OG garden. It is the garden on the side of Days Ice Cream which opens May 3 for weekends. Paul Goldfinger photo. 4/26/24.
By Paul Goldfinger:
One fascinating aspect of this town is the wide variety of unique small gardens; especially alluring in spring. The challenge for Grover gardeners is that our lots are small and we have to squeeze colorful plantings into narrow spaces, often producing secret gardens.
This garden is larger than most. Most of you have seen this garden before, although perhaps not with this perspective.
Notice the fence in the foreground. How old? Days is the oldest still functioning business in the Grove.

Going home…what inspires us to return? Perhaps recalling someone waiting in a window light. Or maybe you are many miles away, lonely in a lost motel.
And there are memory touchstones for home which could be a garden in spring…lovely and familiar, like a melody, like a beautiful woman; and you want to go back.

Starving Artist Olin St view of garden behind Village Square Apts.
I mean north side of Olin St. between Day’s and the Motor Court.

It looks like the side garden at Days.
