Big waves are not usual at the Jersey Shore, but this past December they occurred up and down the shore, and the surfer network got wind of 20 foot waves and they came to our beaches, even from other states.
Here are a few images by Rob Kelly obtained in Ocean County.
For those who don’t know, Ocean Grove has a “surfers only” beach at our North End. Most Jersey shore towns have made provisions for surfers largely for safety reasons. But we don’t know how many have “surfers only” beaches.
