70 Stockton Avenue. Ocean Grove. Paul Goldfinger photo. 11/16/23. New signs are pending. Over the door it says, “Methodist Home.” Looks like someone is moving out.
In 2017 the Francis Asbury Manor was sold and became Allegria. Blogfinger posted an article. Just click below on the link.
Now the facility has a new name: “Ocean Grove Assisted Living and Memory Care.” Here is the web site:

They specialize in assisted living, memory care and short term respite care.
Jack Teagarden:
My aunt moved into Francis Asbury Manor in 1998. She was 75 and had serious issues realted to a TBI. I was concerned when United Methodist Homes of NJ sold it to Allegria/Sage. The building had major deferred maintenance issues, as well as Sandy damages. While her care did not change under Allegria (she passed in 2018), I wondered about the ability of Allegria/Sage to make a sustainable business of it, given that UMHNJ, with resources across many properties, couldn’t make it “pencil.” I hope, for the residents I was friends with, that this change is for the best.
