Annabel Bisset sent this. (below) to NextDoor on 11/15. It is very informative:
The North End Redevelopment in Ocean Grove is NOT a ‘done deal’!!! After months of postponed court dates, on Monday, Nov. 13th the Neptune Township Committee TABLED a Resolution to approve the development because the room was filled with angry and well-informed OG residents who opposed it.
The HPC denied the proposed development in a voluminous report that took months to write. If this development goes forward it is expected to take approximately 7 years to complete.
On Sat. Nov. 25th at 10:00am, the OG Homeowners Association will have an important meeting in the Community Center that will be streamed with a zoom link that is accessible on their website. At this meeting there will be an IMPORTANT presentation from the joint “North End and Legal Affairs Committee”. They will recap the controversial Nov. 13th TC meeting when the plan was tabled. There will be an update on the preparations for the next TC meeting on Nov. 27th.
This ‘redevelopment plan’ is still undecided. You can make a difference. The group of residents who attended the meeting on Nov. 13th already made the TC table the vote, even though they had 2 lawyers present answering questions from the crowd.
The Township Committee was not prepared, and admitted to never reading the 100 page Ocean Grove Historic District Architectural Design Guidelines.
Please either attend the meeting on Nov. 25th, or listen to the meeting on zoom and stay informed. There are several residents, including lawyers, who are diligently reading all the attachments and HPC regulations in order to fight this and maintain the integrity and charm of Ocean Grove.
You can find the attachments of the proposed plan on the Neptune Township website. We can still make a difference. (There’s an article in today’s Asbury Park Press on the TC meeting Monday night.)
