Who’s looking out for we-the-people in Neptuneland, home of secret developers? Blogfinger photo
Neptune Township has conspired to change the legal and original North End Redevelopment Plan. They have whipped up an ordinance that will use trickery to get around the HPC decision to not award an approval for the project.
The newly amended plan was not spelled out in the email from the Home Groaners who should have provided those specifics. In addition, failing to insist on a Zoom meeting will guarantee that many Grovers will miss the Township meeting to be held during a pitch black cold night.
The Groaners should also have had the new ordinance reviewed by a land use attorney. Is it legal to change an existing redevelopment plan without starting from scratch?
Shouldn’t the financial reassurances have been revealed publicly?
Should the developers have been chosen without proper bidding procedures?
The documents presented by the Township for this meeting (Nov. 13, 2023) are so full of legalese that few citizens could understand it all. Shouldn’t a lawyer on our side have reviewed and translated all that gobbledygook for us in advance of this meeting? We need reassurance that all this is kosher.
Who at the Mother Ship is interested in our best interests? We do not have representative government over there.
It appears that tonight is a first reading, so perhaps there is some wiggle room here for raising money to hire a specialist lawyer and postpone a ruling until we are all satisfied.
What we have here is a conspiracy conjured up by the Township in conjunction with developers. The best interests of OG citizens have been dissolved in a witches brew to benefit all parts of the equation except “we-the-people.”
