Mt. Hermon is where Syria, Jordan and Israel come together. It is at the southern slopes of Syria where Israel occupies the Golan Heights. The Mount is referenced in the Bible, and there was a battle fought there in 1973 between Syria and Israel.
Tours of Israel take travelers north to the Golan Heights which is where this photographer was standing.
