a. This two year old was sitting facing me in the next booth at the Blue Swan Diner where she was about to share dinner with her mom and grandma. She and I locked eyes because we both wore glasses. I took mine off and put them back crooked on my nose. She spoke very well and she stared at me for a few moments before continuing to study that fork.
Eileen and I usually go there for turkey dinners or open turkey sandwiches. They do roast their own birds which are excellent, and the portions are generous. We split one. We had a choice of potato, and we usually get fries which are good. It came with a fresh crunchy salad, vegetable choice, and stuffing made from raisin bread.
We split a side of onion rings which are a treat—hot . large, and crispy. I prefer those to the French fries.
The blue swans in the kitchen also do well with fried chicken which we get infrequently And it is also a place where I order a hamburger with tomato and raw onion–no cheese.
For dessert, try their rice pudding.
Eileen almost always gets turkey.

d. Barbara Burns of OG rips into the Mayor in a letter to the Coaster; yesterday’s edition. 3/9/23. This mayor’s performance vis a vis Ocean Grove is problematic.

The Fabulous Five which occupy the dais at the Mother Ship where they deny Grovers a fair shake. They should all be impeached for failure to represent the Grover Nation. The current mayor can be identified by his beard in this photo.
At the Parking forum of January 28, the Fabulous Five looked grim. There was little reason to expect that they would approve the parking plan trial balloon.

Paul Goldfinger photo at the Parking inquisition. Eight township officials sat up front to conduct this meeting to review a Pilot Residential Permit Parking (RPPP) Program offered by a Township Subcommittee. The meeting was run by Neptune Township Mayor Cafferty, a grim looking character who didn’t seem to have a sense of humor.
I observed that Neptune crew and said, ” Team Neptune: They don’t look happy to be there. These Neptuners get to continue the Township tradition of dumping on Grover citizens. No Ocean Grover is part of that crew.”

As for the Mayor, during the intermission many people were milling about and he was glaring at the crowd, but the only one he said something to was me because I was near him as I took pictures of the folks. He demanded that I “sit down”. His accomplice in suppressing the Grovarian crowd and the press was the woman sitting next to him who is the new town business manager–Gina La Placa. I told her I was with the Press, but she was not impressed.
