a. Blogfinger had 920 hits yesterday on 8/21 and 750 on 8/20. Most of the interest was in our articles about Yoga Man and about various OG topics re: CMA and their policies. Today is moving in the same direction.
Everyday we have visitors who have been self referred from the Net or referred by others via links. Many of those visitors go back on fishing expeditions to read older articles or review certain photographs. Yesterday there were requests for 150 individual prior posts by over 300 visitors.
b. We walked by the beach in mid afternoon today. There were no badge checkers, but evidently they were sent home after a rainstorm earlier today. The beach was sparsely attended, and parking was plentiful. Lifeguards were there, but the water was rough.

c. There will be a major musical event in the Great Auditorium on August 28 at 7 pm called “Sacred Masterworks.” It is sponsored by the OG Camp Meeting Association. It is free, but a freewill offering is appreciated.
This is an annual event and will feature big star composers: Beethoven, Handel, Verdi, Gounod and others.
Performances by the MidAtlantic Philharmonic Orchestra, OG singers: Ronald Naldi, Monica Ziglar, Laura Zahn, Justin Beck and Justin Gonzalez. Conducted by Jason Tramm and Timothy Sharp; And we also expect Gordon Turk who is missing from their promo.

Without secular shows, the Great Auditorium has lost some of its glow in the eyes of residents and visitors.

The story related to me and others was that the Saturday night shows were no longer paying for themselves with performers demanding a high payment to appear. I also suspect there might have been some concern over the taxman in regard to non-exempt events. There was recently a suit by Neptune regarding taxes on Grove Hall. This was won by the Association.
I’m sure they’ve lost lots of revenue with no popular concerts—- Hundreds used to come for some of the performers. Oh well. They’ll find money somewhere to survive. But yes. The auditorium has lost it’s charm.
