Fran Scelessa (Yoga Man) has to teach yoga sitting down. The authorities at CMA have been cruel to Fran, resulting in great stress and depriving him of his avocation on the OG pier and boards. ©. Blogfinger photo in A. Park.

Abuse: Showing up without warning, in public, and ordering him off the pier. Harassing a disabled senior citizen who is providing a public service and embarrassing him in front of his students, insisting he stop what he has been doing for 17 years and for no good reason.
Coercion: Insisting that he recite religious dogma before each class or there would be no chance that he could continue his valued roll as a yoga instructor on the OG boards.
Our prior discussion of this matter includes references to the 2013 ruling by FEMA regarding whether or not the Feds would help pay for the Sandy-damaged boardwalk.
Among the discussion points is the idea that FEMA set definitions which would define the OG boards as a “public thoroughfare.”
We don’t need that FEMA point of reference to make the case that Fran Scalessa’s normal freedoms were violated in our town and that basic humanity and justice and decency would be the touchstones which we could assert in defending Fran and berating the CMA.
However, we thank David H. Fox for supplying us with FEMA documents regarding their assessment of Ocean Grove 9 years ago.
And that is interesting in itself, so look for our post later today. August 18, 2022.

Blogfinger.net received 1,431 hits yesterday, and most of the interest was regarding Yogagate starring Francis The “Yoga Man.”
Hmm, maybe he could just go to a new location?
This decision by the CMA is a black mark for the history records of Ocean Grove.
Thank you for advocating for this individual.
