The Coaster has now published 3 front page stories about the “Ocean Grove Pier.” This current piece on August 18 is just blather containing mostly quotes by Michael Badger.
Incidentally have you noticed that the CMA doesn’t mention the word “fishing” in the name, nor does Badger make any reference to the now extinct historic OG Fishing Club. Do you suppose that there will be any fishing from that pier?
Badger brags that “there is no public money in it, no need for Federal Emergency Management grants or assistance.” But he doesn’t admit that the CMA pleaded with the Feds for money to rebuild the pier–but they were rejected by FEMA.
He also claims that “most of the donations came from the residents of Ocean Grove.” Do you believe that?
There will be “memorial fish” donated and embedded into the floor boards. When will the memorials to the dead stop in OG? This is a town, not a cemetery.
Supposedly this pathetic article was written by reporter Carol Gorga Williams. (Hardly a Pulitzer candidate).

If as Badger maintains Ocean Grove is “God’s masterpiece” then perhaps the pier can be viewed as its entry to paradise. People also may achieve salvation but in very literal ways. This pier will allow life-guards a unique perspective to search for swimmers in distress.
“It is better to look for missing bathers from the ocean side sitting in a lifeguard stand,” Badger explained.
See if you can read the above without wondering what looney bin the Coaster is publishing from.
And the reporter who wrote this needs to return to the CMA School of Twisted Journalism before she roars some more:
