The Greatest Auditorium in the World: A new perspective by Blogfinger.net

Paul Goldfinger.  Editor Blogfinger.net. 7/28/22.  Ocean Grove, NJ.

On July 23 there was a meeting of the Home Groaners.  The Coastericans sent their stenographer who would write all the words but ask no questions.  Source:   Coaster.  July 28, 2022.

Here are quotes and news from that meeting as well as comments by the rabble-rousers at Blogfinger, following in the tradition of Paul Revere who famously  said,  “The British are coming.”

a.  Neptune has a new Business Administrator Gina M. LaPlaca. She is a lawyer with a background in land use issues.  Hooray!!   Read the Coaster for her impressive resume.   She is the mayor of Lumberton, NJ, a Burlington County town bigger than OG.

b. She is working on an ordinance regarding short  term rentals. The choice now is a 2 night minimum stay.  Other related issues, such as Airbnb, are up in the air.  Go to neptunetownship.org/forms-applications.

c. She said that the North End Redevelopers will  appeal the HPC turndown and then go to court if needed.

d.  LaPlaca also said that the bizarre parking permit referendum planned for November will not happen.

The Neptuners are now focusing on 3 hour parking limits in our business district. This no-brainer is the easiest low hanging parking fruit.  She had no comment about other parking issues such as permits which were going to be in the referendum-dum-dum-dum.

e. There are discussions about providing vehicle charging stations in OG.  It says “If an electric charging grant is obtained, Neptune will work with the OGCMA for device placement.”   But who has studied the need for such stations in OG?

f.  OGCMA has “hired police” to regulate bicycle usage on the boardwalk”.  Badger, CMA president said that people and dogs have been hit by bicycles on the boards.

g. He also said that a $500,000 grant from the State has been received to create a “fitness trail.” No map  or details were  provided. Why is this necessary?

The Groaner’s president Williams commented on the “fitness trail.” He said,   “The fitness trail is a noble desire, with incredible complications.”

Really?  Tell me more! Tell me more!

SUMMER NIGHTS FROM GREASE:

Summer heat, boy and girl meet
But, oh, oh, the summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more
How much dough did he spend?
Tell me more, tell me more
