a. More confused language:
Did you notice that Neptune Township has taken over the job of publicizing the Chamber of Commercial’s events? See above.
This flier had to cost money, but why is the Neptune publicist acurtis handling it? Aren’t those Neptuners busy enough harassing Grovers over garbage?
The Chamber is a private organization. Are they responsible for the above event or is the Township? If it is the Chamber it appears to be is supported by our tax dollars. Note the Chamber logo on the flier above.
And who decided to charge admission? And who gets the money?
If Neptune is somehow tied into this event, they why on earth are they charging money to visit private gardens? Isn’t it enough that they charge us to have a yard sale?
This is another example in OG of muddying the waters. The chief muddlers are found at the Camp Meeting.
b. The Independence Day parade will be at 10:30 am , Saturday July 2. Let’s hope that they have invited Sousa.
And there will be a free “Patriotic Concert” at 7:30 pm in the Great Auditorium (Free will offering will be “gratefully accepted.”)

US MARINE CORPS BAND: Sousa’s “Washington Post March”
c. Neptune Township has decided to have Town-wide Yard Sales during the month of June. They did this without any fanfare, but it did cause a bit of confusion during our sales. This year we had 37 sites.
The best we ever did was a few years ago with 75.
In view of this Township plan, we will not resurrect the Blogfinger Town-Wide sale next year.
d. Monmouth Medical Center will build a $650 million medical facility at the Ft. Monmouth site in Tinton Falls.
This is what Jersey Shore “University” Hospital should have done way back when it was a rinky-dink local hospital. If they had done their expansion along Rt. 66, they would have a modern and highly functional campus by now.
Have you been there at the Neptune facility on Rt. 33? It is a jury-rigged conglomeration which is hard to navigate inside. The component parts are far apart and easy to get lost in. If you walk from one end to the other, you will need a Sherpa guide, an oxygen tank, and supplies for an Everest climb.
Only the new Hope Tower resembles a modern medical facility. And the parking at that “campus” is scary.
e. There is a debate in Bradley Beach over what to do with a historic church. What interested me is the fact that a decision regarding what to do with that property will be decided by a public referendum
Developers of OG’s North End were handed an obscene gift of open zoning, and the claim that the citizens of OG were for it has never been documented despite claims to the contrary
Theme song for the Neptune Comedy:

Jack: I totally agree, but this event should be free.
The Garden Tour sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce is the exact type of event that should be held in Ocean Grove. It does not attract large crowds of people, but mainly people who live in Ocean Grove who can walk to the event and not monopolize much needed parking spaces.
If you want to see a very artistic flower garden created by Joyce and Mike Adase (97 Heck Ave) you must visit their secret garden.
If you cannot make this very special event, you can make a donation to the Chamber of Commerce.
