Modern OG history. 2018. Blogfinger named to 60 Best NJ Blogs

November 6, 2024 by Blogfinger

So far we don’t have an actual medal, only this drawing of one which we have been authorized to post.

Some of these blogs on the list seem impressive such as NJ Monthly Magazine, NJ Biz, NJPAC, Save Jersey, NJ TECH weekly. But so far there is no invitation to go to Oslo, Norway for an award ceremony with the King; or even the Queen.    I was notified by email, so we haven’t yet scheduled a black tie dinner dance to celebrate.

Learned about the honor from the founder of  Feedspot.com   Anuj Agarwal

And here’s a photo of Eileen and myself, a few years ago, wondering when we would make this list.  Don’t know where we were in the photo below, but it looks like we have been institutionalized.

And we just found out that love is strange:

EILEEN AND PAUL. PG is on the right.

MICKEY AND SYLVIA:  (I think they sang this at our wedding and they sang it in the movie Dirty Dancing.)

Where else can I attack the Neptune Township Committee as Nick and the Knuckleheads and OGCMA as Ocean Grove Counting Money Association? Almost as much fun as surfing!

    Congrats!

Over the years I have tried to get the local papers to report on the very serious issues that plague OG. I have even heard from the Press that they are tired of reporting on OG. I have found that papers are not filled with so much of what is called fake news as much as what I call nit wit news. The last pathetic report on the Warrington in the Press was a perfect example.

The people of OG are so very lucky that Blogfinger has given us a place to hear of, address, and voice our concerns on the many serious issues we are facing in our community.

The recognition that this Blog has received is truly deserving.

    Kevin Chambers

Thank you for all the accolades. You can never have too many of those.

But I would like to share the congrats with those who help me with Blogfinger including Eileen Goldfinger, Jack Bredin, Jean Bredin, Moe Demby, Bob Bowné, Kevin Chambers, Stephen Goldfinger, Sue Gioulis, Little Noah, MayyBeth Robb, and also all those who read Blogfinger and especially those who offer comments and other content, including those who are rabble rousers, rabble trousers, muck rakers, skeptics, rumor spreaders, leakers, Deep Throaters, and girls in their summer clothes.

And there are those who sign in with their real names or otherwise help us with their real names like Tom Costantino who is the only male in the Woman’s Club of Ocean Grove–he barely passed the physical, Jennifer Thomas, Phil Orton, J Cortese, Connie Ogden, Poet Charles Pierre, Poet George Held, Ted Bell, Jason Tramm, Lt. Michael Zarra (NTPD), Committeewoman Carol Rizzo,

And finally we want to thank all who sign in anonymously including Suffering Surfer, Pupu Platter, Curmudgeon, Pumper Nichol, Penny, Doubting Thomas, Tenter,Long Time OG Lady, OGLover, Calla Lilly, Humpty Dumpty, Downda Hatch, Appleation, Joe, Ken, Shelley, OGrover, Wisher, Lakers, Northender, Deirdre, Water Seller, Capt. Sorry if I missed anyone, but this is a blog, so if you do something to help us, we will add you to this list and if I remember anyone, while I am trying to remember where my keys are, I will add you as well.

The local news by Blogfinger comes directly from the citizens of OG, and is not just the ‘Fake News’ that the Neptune Township Committee hands out to the Local Press.

Whoo Hoo!!! Every once in awhile, the good gets noticed. Glad to see your unflagging work getting the recognition it deserves.

But the good news is that the International Colonoscopy Blog has fallen way behind. Evidently their preparation was inadequate.

Great job Blogfinger! #35 – not too shabby. I see you beat the Divorce Lawyer blog (40) and the NJ Farmer blog (60). Of course there is room for improvement as you lost out to a weather blog (25) and some blog called NJ Bites (26).

    All kidding aside – congrats!
