This is Deborah Osepchuk, Chairman of the OG HPC during the ZOOM meeting of one year ago. Paul Goldfinger photo from the computer screen. She was blocked from speaking truth to power due to an aggressive OGNED attorney. Will she be able this time to open the floor to all questions?
Editor’s Note: Evidently OGNED has been trying to satisfy the HPC in order to get a Certificate of Appropriateness which is needed to proceed with the NERP. HPC tech people have had meetings with OGNED since last years public session. (4/21) Since everything has been “hush-hush” we can only assume that OGNED is ready to submit their design improvements at this April 19, 2022 ZOOM meeting.
We have no idea what they have been working on, and the HPC and the Township have maintained silence in terms of letting the public know where we stand.
From our point of view at Blogfinger, the whole plan should have been shelved years ago, with the “Zone In Need of Redevelopment ” being cancelled, and with a return to the original single family zoning which existed before the Neptune Committee, the Home Groaners, and the Planning Board inappropriately approved this project which has been stalled for 14 years.
We have also just earned that the Planning Board’s November 2019 approval for the project has expired, so OGNED has to satisfy them as well, but we have no details regarding this breaking news.
At the time of that 2019 approval, we expressed concerns then. Here is one link:
And here is another link regarding that horrible Planning Board meeting in 2019;
Preemptive strikes at the Planning Board designed to suppress HPC free speech .
Catch Up: On April 6, 2021, a similar HPC meeting was held, but it was a dud. Why? You can read our post about that meeting. Below is a link:
HPC OGNED meeting 4/6/21:
HPC calls a box a box. OGNEDs flash their fangs at the North End meeting.
WILLIE NELSON:
“The North End Development will clearly have a significant, long-term impact on parking in Ocean Grove. And in the short term, dozens of construction workers on the site will create more immediate parking challenges.”
This quote is from the Better Parking Alliance which says that the HPC will not address anything about parking.
The BPA also says that the Township will conduct yet another survey of residents regarding parking. This will happen in June and likely will explode into mish mash.
The reason is that the supply side of the problem has to be addressed which means reducing the numbers of high volume events which the Township permits each season in the Grove and which impacts most OG neighborhoods and resident lifestyles.
What other Jersey Shore town permits so many crowded and worthless happenings? The answer is, “none.”
