Latest report from the Iona Tornado.

March 18, 2022. Fort Myers, Florida.

By Paul Goldfinger, Editor, Blogfinger.net

The beast is gone.  It stayed for  only about 10 minutes on the morning of January 16, and then it continued its psychotic path of destruction. Now, a month later, in its wake, people come every day to work–to restore some sense of getting back to the peaceful beautiful place that it was.

Everyday I pass  the random  locations where it hit. It’s gone but it still seems scary as if it might return.

Demolitions are ongoing: noise, huge trucks, traffic jams.  Wherever  a pile  of debris is removed, an empty lot is left, and they are all over the park. There are gaping spaces next to untouched homes, like giant missing teeth, but some places have group damage with 4 or 5 adjacent  locations reduced to rubble.

No sign yet of any new homes.  Many ruined homes are still waiting for the big trucks, so the mess just sits there.  Where did the victims go?

A message left behind.  The H means that it has to be demolished. Tropicana park. Ft. Myers, Fla. 3/15/22. Paul Goldfinger photo.

Ever as before
Ever just as sure
