For those of you who think that Eileen is a sixteen year old girl, those Eileen portraits are a record of how a beautiful model–my muse–looked back then.
I remind myself of the famous American photographer Harry Callahan whose model throughout his career was his wife Eleanor including many published nude studies of her.
Eileen was always a willing model, both posed and candid, but always clothed.
Edward Weston, however, was famous for naked peppers and women. He is rumored to have slept with all his muses.
And here is Art Garfunkel with a sleepy rendition of an old (1938) movie soundtrack song.
Here is a link to a Blogfinger post from 2012 where we discussed “figure photography,” The music is especially wonderful.
And, regarding the photo above, in 2013, the word of the year was announced by Oxford Dictionary—it was “selfie,” and I never heard of it. It seemed silly then, and I never tried it before now. I barely have engaged in cell phone photos, although I hear that the iPhone 13 has a fine resolution sensor and 3 good lenses. I may try that because I dislike the photos I get from my iPhone 10.
But selfies? No,no….I have no interest in taking photos of myself, but Eileen will still be model #1 at Blogfinger.net.
