Old, and repetitive, and amazing all the time.

Sunset from San Carlos Bay.     Paul Goldfinger photo. Dec 29, 2021.  Ft. Myers, Florida. Click to enlarge.

This is a simple beach, beautiful in its natural themes. Every Wednesday morning a naturalist takes whoever shows up for a walk and a talk of tides, fish, birds, seaside plants and light.

Little tribes of shore birds scurry around rapidly in groups near the water’s edge, and some people can actually tell them apart. Most arrive with binoculars and little notebooks.

At sunset people come early just for that reason. They stand around and stare while turning about to each other to softly proclaim what they see, even though it is old and repetitive and yet amazing at all times.

DEMI LOVATO  “Sunset”  from Dancing With the Devil–The Art of Starting over.

“So don’t let the sunset
On our love
Don’t let the night fall
Tear us apart, no
‘Cause I’m lost without you, without you
Don’t let the sunset
On our love, no..”
