DEP does not mention Wesley Lake pollution in their CAFRA report.

Around town with Jean. Jean Bredin is, like all photographers, tuned into the light. And this is a lovely shot of Wesley Lake.

But we all know that this Lake is troubled due to pollution. If you see a regal great blue heron there, it makes you wonder about Mother Nature.

The blue is looking for food among all the schmutz floating around. She shares the feast with the ducks and the anhinga and other shore feeders.

We wish she would spend more time at Fletcher Lake or Deal Lake which are cleaner.

Heron the Great would likely prefer Fletcher Lake as its waters come largely from springs in the lake bottom. Wesley was always a problem (like from the late 1870s) as it had four tributaries that ran through inhabited areas.
