The most photographed place in OG is the tent village. It never moves; it’s a bit like ground hog day, yet, from a photographic point of view, the Blogfinger photography staff (mostly Jean and I) continue to find inspiration in the lively lifestyles over there near the Great Auditorium.
There is a reason why so many potential tenters sometimes wait years to rent a tent—and you can’t get one from Airbnb. Above photo is by Jean with a lovely nocturnal rendition of Tent Village.

Well, the tents in Ocean Grove have in fact moved over the years. In 1881, there was a desire to beautify Auditorium Park and the tents there were removed. A gazebo was put over the hand pump and called “Beersheba Well” for the first time. Previously, there was a tent area on the North End between Beach, Spray, Ocean, and Lake avenues. There was another at the site of the Allegria home on the south.
