A Coaster reporter attended the Home Groaners meeting on August 28 and wrote about it in their latest edition dated September 2. There were a few items of interest in the Blogfinger newsroom:
a. Mayor Brantley said that “the Ocean Grove North End development project can proceed as the plan’s underground parking, which is an essential component, has been approved.”
He also is quoted as saying, “Neptune supports the development of the North End.”
Blogfinger comment: Why doesn’t Brantley refer to the project as the “North End Redevelopment Plan” since that is what his Committee approved in 2008.
A redevelopment designation was the mechanism that Neptune and WAVE and the CMA used to smother the existing single family zoning and the existing Master Plan.
It was a phony maneuver based on a lie to justify the designation. Now, how cute! He refers to it as a “development project.”
There is a re-post below that explains the difference between development and redevelopment.
Why doesn’t Mayor Brantley tell the citizens of Ocean Grove in detail about the process whereby “underground parking…has been approved” Why are those details being kept secret from the public?
b. And Brantley announces that “Neptune supports the development of the North End.” Why is he saying that now? Neptune has supported the idea from the start—nearly 13 years ago.
Once again the misuse of language and the lack of transparency are used to create propaganda and false impressions by these people.
The Mayor wants to rewrite history to suit his narrative while burying the truth.
