At the end of the day, the beach life ends slowly and deliberately. People are tired and walk dragging their beach supplies behind, including kids.
And everyone must stop to wash their feet. Kids love to wash their feet. When they are done they begin to organize their stuff on the boards and then set out, like some sort of ancient caravan.
This woman was from out of town. We chatted a bit while I photographed her. She seemed to enjoy the process. I had to get her to look up and show her joy at rinsing her toes.
Mostly I try for candid shots, and she came up with this body language. You can see that she’s got rhythm–perhaps a dancer. And, I bet “she’s got good times.”
THE HAPPENINGS: “I Got Rhythm” by the Gershwins. There must be 200 covers of this song. This one is different.
