Demi Moore created a storm of indignation as well as admiration when she appeared on the August 1991 cover of Vanity Fair naked and 7 months pregnant.  That made this image possible.

At first I wasn’t going to use it, but then I thought if this  mom-to-be was comfortable with it, then why not?  She was proud and she spent quite a bit of time here preening and taking selfies.  I didn’t use the frames which showed her face.

She looks close to term,  but I did deliver 30 babies in medical school, so I was ready.    Incidentally, 2 out of 3 were girls; I kept score in my OB book.

One time, at DC General, one of my group called me in because after delivering a boy, he couldn’t deliver the placenta.  I gave a small tug without success.   Then the intern arrived, but no luck.

Finally, the resident rushed in, gave a quick assessment and said, “It’s twins!”    After that it was smooth sailing.

Note that diagnosing twins was not a piece of cake in the 1960’s.
