OG Parking Management Plan to be discussed on May 3–notice below from the Home Groaners.

P A R K I N G
Neptune Township Committee First Review of the
Kimley Horn Parking Report
Monday May 3rd – 5:30pm
Neptune Township will hold a “workshop” session on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. devoted solely to the topic of the “Ocean Grove Parking Management Plan” sponsored by the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association and prepared by Kimley Horn, consultants with expertise in parking management. During the meeting Kimley Horn will present its parking plan. This Plan is likely to form the basis for future discussions of how to address our parking problems in Ocean Grove. After the presentation and after the members of the Township Committee ask questions, there will be a period for public comment.
The meeting will be held in person and remotely via Townhall Streams. The meeting will be convened at the Neptune Municipal Complex (2nd Floor Meeting Room) at 25 Neptune Blvd. with limited in person seating due to social distancing requirements. We encourage you to attend remotely via “Townhall Streams” To access the meeting, go to neptunetownship.org. Click on the box labeled “Stream Meetings Online” on the left side of the Homepage. (We recommend using the Chrome browser.) During the public comment period, you will be able to submit a comment or question in writing via Townhall Streams. Your comment or question will be read aloud.

Editor’s note:

So ZOOM is out, and some other mechanism is in its place. Nothing comes easy when Neptune Township’s  transparency is at stake. They tell you to use Chrome browser. How many of you have that?

And do you really want to attend this meeting which is bizarre—it is essentially a workshop presented by the Township which has invited the Camp Meeting’s private parking company to present their “plan.” This plan is biased to begin with since the CMA is paying for this long delayed study, and we know what their goals are.

What town would let a private group’s inherent bias take over a public process like parking which affects everyone in town including merchants and tourists.   How does a private plan achieve approval and implementation  in the public space?

And will our representative government, the Neptuners, look out for the best interest of our mostly secular residents with over 3,000 people in the census count and then there are the additional citizens who own or rent homes but don’t get counted by the census?

Blogfinger  will stand back and wait for the Better Parking Alliance, the Neptuner Committee and the impotent Home Groaners to tell us their views as they get sucked into the CMA’s proposal.

Will these groups come together and stand for the residents of the Grove instead of special interests?

It will be interesting to find out if the Kimley Horn company can solve our parking problems when the two most  important variables: too few spaces and too many tourists will be ignored while they juggle all the  balls in the air.

The OGCMA owns an auditorium that holds 6,000 people, why isn’t this important meeting being held where the public can attend?
Is Neptune and the OGCMA working together to promote an invalid parking report?
Is the OGCMA’s report following and including state mandated requirements for parking for all their facilities and leaseholds they control?
Is the OGCMA’s parking study based on Neptune’s invalid and illegal zoning requirements for OG?
If any of these questions are answered with a yes, then we in OG are dealing with major corruption.
