This photograph of the North End in Ocean Grove (by Paul Goldfinger, Blogfinger.net ©) shows how it is now—it breathes and inspires happiness with the broad views of the ocean and the lovely lights that illuminate a natural environment.
Some of you will like the NERP if it ever gets built, especially those who will occupy the 165 residential units of condos, hotel and a few houses.
Our poll showed that 88% of the 260 respondents preferred a neighborhood of Victorian single family houses, as per the original zoning, until it was changed by dubious manipulations in 2008.
It’s still possible that the NERP will never happen.
LAURA FYGI:
Agree with you Jack. Would also like to add that without your tireless efforts construction would be well on it’s way. Let’s hope for single family housing and removal of the “hastily rehabilitated” structure east of the boardwalk that is clad in new vinyl siding.
If not for the reporting by Blogfinger, construction at the North End would have started several years ago, and Ocean Grove residents would be lamenting,”Why didn’t someone do something to stop this?”.
