Great white egret…

February 9, 2021 by Blogfinger

Great white egret. It is a photographic exposure challenge.  Look carefully to see its long black legs.  Click to enlarge.   Tropicana Park. Ft. Myers, Fla. Paul Goldfinger photo 2/9/21. ©

This bird was nearly wiped out in the 1800’s because its plumage was desired for hats.  It became the symbol of the National Audubon Society after its conservation recovery.  This one was visiting our backyard late in the afternoon.  I was using a short tele (75 mm) lens as I slowly moved forward. It stood still for awhile, but then it took off.  I only got two exposures as he/she flew away.
