When we started Blogfinger.net 11 years ago, we wanted to be an information-sharing local web site. We have evolved over time in some ways, but we still are an eclectic blog with Ocean Grove news and lifestyle posts, music, photography, and opinions.
Now, in the off season, we are receiving about 500-600 “hits” each day. But there are some differences: we get less comments from Grovers and we have attracted the attention of more foreign visitors and more Googlers, who almost never comment.
We receive a list each day of posts that attract the attention of folks who find our Blogfinger topics while searching on the Web.
For example, almost each day, visitors want to read our piece on speech patterns of young women or our articles on Andrew Wyeth. And there are 250 bloggers who check in.
And then there are links which are sent to others by BF readers or by Googlers.
It’s fun for us to have such a varied audience. We have never monetized our blog, so we do it for other reasons such as showing my photographs, doing some writing, making people happy with the music and offering some ideas/information/opinions.
And we get to go to wonderful events like this Santacon party in Asbury:
