A welcome surprise: Sunset farmers market back in business.

August 8, 2020 by Blogfinger

A good sized crowd attended today’s Sunset Market. Most wore masks, and the displays were a cornucopia. Paul Goldfinger photo. August 8, 2020 ©

A Jersey tomato. Blogfinger photo. 8/8/20

They will open Saturdays from 8-1.  Three farmers had fresh picked Jersey produce including tempting tomatoes  which are good, but don’t buy them too soft.    And there was a tableful of wonderful Jersey corn.

Also the Italian baker was there with his home-grown gabfest and his wonderful aged Italian cheese, breads, and pastries as well.

The pickle man and a table featuring  preserves and piri-piri sauce were there also. Beautiful sunflowers were on display.

I picked up a few items just to get an idea:

Notice the fig bar, green squash, yellow squash,  roasted peppers and the aforementioned Italian cheese–a special sort of provolone.  We also got Jersey peaches.  Blogfinger photo. August 8.

JUDY GARLAND invites us to the fair in St. Louis.  Unlike Ocean Grove, you can dance the hoochie coochie to live music there.  This is “Meet Me in St. Louis” original cast.
