NJ.com: “Parents and educators will learn as soon as early next week how pre-K through 12th grade schools in New Jersey reopen after the summer break as the state continues to reopen from coronavirus closures,” Gov. Phil Murphy said Wednesday.
North Jersey.com: “A steering committee has been formed to determine when and how schools will reopen,” State Education Commissioner Lamont Repollet said.
“And the state Department of Education would provide some flexibility for local districts to make their own decisions,” he said.
NJ authorities say that they have “hundreds” of issues to plan for regarding reopening of schools.
And they have fewer than 150 days to figure it out.
NJ.com: “The biggest challenge is how do you learn to live with ambiguity?” Westfield Public Schools Superintendent Margaret Dolan said in a report by the New Jersey School Boards Association.
“You have to say we can tentatively plan for this, but you have to tentatively plan three ways because you don’t know.”
