Great Pyrenees are livestock guardians that originate in France and Spain. The Pyrenees Mountain range extends west to east between the Iberian Peninsula and the rest of Europe. This male weighs 110-120 pounds.
His breed is known to be gentle, intelligent, and protective—–Great Pyrenees are terrific family dogs. They are so smart that they can order a cappuccino in French or Spanish.
But imagine this great guy bounding into your bed in the morning (I’m not referring to Kevin Chambers.)
This GP was spotted enjoying a visit to the Grove. His owner agreed to this photo but did not want to reveal the dog’s name, and don’t try to find him on Facebook.
We have a prize for whoever comes up with a great name for him. And don’t say Englebert Humperdinck—that name is taken.
Note that the name “Great Pyrenees” is singular and plural, . I guess the best in breed gets the “Greatest Pyrenees” award.
*Thanks to Kevin Chambers for the headline.
