TONY BENNETT.  Live on his MTV Unplugged album.   This bird could fly to the moon; or maybe just a bit short of that.

7 years ago, Tony Bennett played the Great Auditorium. Ronald Naldi sang the Star Spangle Banner without a microphone. Of course his magnificent voice echoed off the vast wooden interior.

When Tony Bennett came out, he was awed by Ronald Naldi’s acapella performance, so he said that he wanted to try it.

He gave it his best, but his voice is trained for jazz, and he needed the microphone. Mr Naldi told me that he learned to project his voice when studying for the opera.
