2020. Jean Bredin: Well, it’s the Annual New Years Day Polar Bear Plunge in Asbury Park (north end.) I’ve covered this before and never tire of the enthusiasm that abounds from all the plungers and also the spectators. I try to be close and up front. As usual, big waves came up almost to my knees, and it didn’t phase me.
At 1pm, the participants marched out of Convention Hall and gathered at the ocean’s edge. At the starting moment, with the word “go” over the loudspeaker, the rush into the water began. —Jean 1/1/20.
