The dog beach at the north end of Asbury Park is a gathering place for the dog community there.  They are allowed to bring their canine friends  once the lifeguards are gone.  It was obvious that it was a social event for the dogs and their owners.  The dogs ran around off leash and they had a great time. Some frolicked in the ocean. The owners made sure that everything was clean and safe. It also is one of the most beautiful times of day to visit any beach on the east coast.

The dog park group in Ocean Grove asked the CMA to approve a similar dog beach for OG north end.  CMA said that it is “not part of our mission.”

As a southside resident, I would love a dog park which we tried for once before and did not get.

There’s a new dog friendly beach right in the middle of Wildwood (Poplar Ave.). Was there with my dog last week. Dogs are welcome anytime there but leashes are necessary.

Against it: Please explain how an in-season north end dog beach (which is open about 3 hours each day) will impact your life. Why do you view it as “getting the short end of historic Ocean Grove?” As for not “having a say,” this community offers plenty of opportunities to have a say.

The north end part of Ocean Grove is the last place a dog run should be allowed. As a resident of the north end we always get the short end of historic Ocean Grove. We get the surfing beach instead of a regular beach, a tar boardwalk instead of a nice wooden boardwalk, and a crumbling wall at Wesley Lake instead of a new wall.

Put a dog run in a park where it belongs. Residents of the north end should have a say in what goes on on our side of town. The people on the south side would strongly object to this suggestion. Let it be known that this north side resident isagainst this proposal.
