Wassup? Ocean Grove, NJ. June 7, 2019

June 7, 2019 by Blogfinger

This Blogfinger cow comes to us from Florida. She turns to the camera, frowns,  and says, “Moo too Bruté?”

a. Gordon Turk, organist from the Great Auditorium will be performing at the West Grove United Methodist Church on Sunday, January 9, at 4 pm.  Performing with him will be soprano Monica Ziglar.   Ms. Ziglar also performs regularly at the Great Auditorium this summer.

The “Songs on a Summer Afternoon” Sunday recitals in the Youth Temple will begin on June 30, with Justin Beck, bass-baritone. All begin at 3:30 pm.

On July  7, the quartet will be in the Great Auditorium with “America Sings.” Then Ronald Naldi, tenor on July 21, Monica Ziglar, soprano on July 28, then the quartet will perform again on August 4 in the GA, and finally on August 11 will be Katherine Pracht, mezzo-soprano.

Mark your calendars for these fine operatic music concerts.

b. According to the Coaster stenographer, the OG Home Owners Assoc.  invited a professor to last week’s meeting. He is an expert on environmental issues and he spoke about climate change world-wide.    He told the audience about the Cuyahoga River in Ohio.  That river is polluted, but he had nothing to say about Wesley Lake.

Also, at the same meeting, there was a brief report on parking and one on the North End Redevelopment, but according to the Coaster stenographer, nothing new was said.

The HOA report also said  that the boardwalk fire scene cleanup would be completed, but “the estimated time of the site cleanup is four to six weeks.”   (Anybody want to clarify that estimate?)

c. The Parking Committee report also said that “summer contractors working in OG must remove their dumpsters over the weekends.”  And, “any cars not moved in the community for 30 days are subject to being towed.”  For more information, contact Joyce Klein or the HOA minutes.

d. WordPress has informed us that Blogfinger has been very busy in recent days.  Yesterday, June 6, we had 1,228 hits, and the most activity by far was regarding our post about the Liquid Church.

After that it is the post about short term rentals in the Grove, and finally the one called “Great Expectations” regarding “What can we expect from the CMA?”

e. The poster on Main Ave promising a Mediterranean restaurant has been taken down. Maybe there is still hope for a fine Chinese take-out with delivery in town.

f. Bridgefest begins on June 22, so hold onto your parking spaces.
