Parking remains a headline subject because it impacts the lifestyles of all Grovers, in one way or another. Here is an idea to increase the number of parking spaces without changing what we already have.
It involves retraining every driver in town to do precision parallel parking as seen above. This will increase the number of cars parked in town by about 100, with no increased burden on the Neptune budget. But be sure to keep your butt out of the yellow box.

In Europe, most citizens seem to drive tiny cars–very functional and easy to park. We were once in Israel when our bus was prevented from passing due to one of those little cars. Two guys got out of the bus, picked up the car and stuck it temporarily on the sidewalk. We went by and then they jumped out and put the little car back.
How about a dedicated block or zone for contractor trucks. I was swarmed by a few in the Friday evening parking frenzy in the mountains, ladders and long beds cutting into more than one car length per vehicle. Now maybe I should get one of those teeny tiny itsy bitsy Smart cars…
