Fund raiser to restore the 1907 fountain in Founders Park.*

This fountain  was originally a four-tier design with cascading water.  It was made of cast iron, and it has been in the park for 110 years.  But it has not contained water since the 1970’s.

The fountain is listed in 2017 by Preservation New Jersey as one of the State’s 10 most endangered historic places.  The goal is to  restore it by the 150th anniversary of Ocean Grove in the summer of 2019.

There is an ironworks company in Alabama that could restore our fountain, but $106,500 would be needed.

A few years ago, I made a contribution to help restore the fountain. Hopefully those contributions are currently accounted for.

Now the HSOG has issued a press release announcing the latest fund raising effort and the Society has set up a  separate fund earmarked for all fountain donations.

Say it slow : One Hundred And Six Thousand Five Hundred Dollars

That is an awful lot of money . Yet many (yes even in OG) barely have enough money to buy food .

I also contributed to the restoration of the fountain and hope the funds are still inlace for Founders Park
