    It was not called a “retention/detention basin” when that photo was taken. The Lake actually often looks nice, but looks are deceiving.

    The Wesley Lake Commission engineer recently admitted that the Lake water was in bad shape. He claimed that the Lake was man-made (and thus not tidal or natural) and would become a “basin” if it weren’t one already. But his testimony, even if somewhat true, was designed, it seemed,” to give the kiss of death to the Lake.

    Jack Bredin has recently warned the Township Committee that the Lake was in danger. We don’t know if the WL Commission has formerly recognized this concern.
