It was twilight on Monday, July 3, and the beaches were closed. We biked by and came upon a gathering of lifeguards. It was time for them to take their eyes off the ocean and to check out each other. And what a sight it was. But for this pub crawl there was one small detail: Ocean Grove is a dry town.
They had come from Avon-by-the-bars and they were stopping briefly in the Grove for a moment of sobriety and some photos, and then it would be off to A. Park where they could have a few drinks and practice the breast stroke.
