Here is a Blogfinger link about the Whitfield’s history:

CAST OF FOLLIES BY STEPHEN SONDHEIM:  There was a time when the Whitfield was a romantic place to spend the morning. And most recently it provided shelter to the unfortunate. Lee Morgan says, “No more open doors at The Whitfield.”

So Ocean Grove lumbers into the slow walk, of wonderful and rich people who are never actually here. Wonderful and clean homes that service no one, only their owners, who may. or may not, visit. Quiet, peaceful properties, like a graveyard? Ocean Grave, redux.

Thank you Dr. Carol! Much appreciated!

Good riddence. The construction will be less disruptive than the regular police ‘visits’ the neighbor’s have endured for years.

Ah, and when the HPC heard the application for demolition, the owner was listed as Bevin Irwin (not Irvin), and he was represented by Don Beekman, who has an office on Main Ave. You might be able to reach the owner by sending a letter through Beekman.

The owner of record is “Lanyon & Irvin” with an address of 20 Surf — you could try to send a letter there and hope the mail is being forwarded. Or check with Neptune Township’s Mercantile office to see if they would provide the contact information — the Whitfield must have had a mercantile license.

Does anyone have contact information for the land owner? I am interested in buying one of the lots where the Whitfield is going down, or if they are still building single family homes in purchasing one. I have not been able to find any contacts through real estate agents… just wondering if anyone has contact info. Thank You !
