Strandvue: on Ocean Avenue, straddling Main Avenue and Heck Avenue in Ocean Grove. Click for a closer vue. Blogfinger photo 10/7/16
It was a lovely Friday afternoon today, October 7, 2016. Many people were enjoying the sunny day on the Boardwalk, the Pier, and the beach. We passed the Strandview where preparations were underway for a big deal event. Those on the porch were “dressed up.” Men wore jackets and ties, and a few tuxedoed waiter types were arranging a bar. Judging from the foreground, it looks like a wedding was to occur, with a fairly small number of guests.Music was softly playing.
Some tourists walked by who seemed lost. One looked over and said, “Is it Granada I see or only Asbury Park?”
The Strandview is a “Grand Victorian” mansion which rents out for groups of 16-18 guests who actually could sleep over–there are 6 bedrooms, so some would have to sleep together. Did people sleep together in Victorian times?
But there was a sense of expectation in the air, or was it just the ocean breezes? We didn’t stick around to get the whole story. Were any of you guests at the event? What’s the scoop?

OMG! That was my daughter’s wedding at the Strandvue in Ocean Grove that day! It was an incredibly perfect day. Great pic of the house.
