Jean Bredin reports:
“It was hot and muggy. A nice cold ice cream cone would hit the spot I thought. As I turned the corner at Nagles, I quickly pondered…30, 45, 60 minute wait?…What if they run out of Java Chip after the long wait….maybe there won’t be a seat left for me…..I applauded the die hard patrons for their patience, but after I took this picture, decided to settle for the ice cream sandwich in my freezer..there will be another time, a shorter line.”
Editor’s Note: At the same time Jean took this photo, Eileen and I were on line at Days. The concert had just let out and the line was developing quickly. Dave, the CEO at Days, had assembled a large staff of determined young super scoopers, so the line moved quickly. A woman on the porch was watching newborn twins, a boy and a girl—just two months old. She was holding the little boy Sam, trying to coach him to sleep. His sister was asleep in the stroller. As the line moved passed the threesome, they provided entertainment and conversation for the ice cream line. Days will be open daily through Labor Day (Monday September 7) and then weekends until Columbus Day (Monday Oct. 12.) —-PG
