2nd Anniversary of Sandy making landfall at the Jersey Shore.

October 29, 2014 by Blogfinger

November 7, 2012. Ocean Grove

November 7, 2012. Ocean Grove boardwalk. OG photographer unidentified. (contact us if it were you)

This photograph always reminds me of the famous  flag raising image taken at Iwo Jima.   The response of volunteers was incredible after Sandy hit, and this 2 year anniversary must be a remembrance of the storm, but also of the tremendous volunteer response and the subsequent rebuilding effort which is still in play.

Feel free to reminisce by sending brief comments.  Click below.

We spent the night of Oct. 29, 2012 in our bed on Mt. Hermon Way. The house shook. It was worrisome. A couple of days later, some volunteer church teams rolled into town on trucks. The were tough young guys who brought their own chain saws, weather gear, and even food. They went to work immediately clearing fallen trees from the streets. —–Paul
