The Neptune Township Committee revised their ordinance regarding permits for yard sales on Monday April 28. Today we spoke to Mr.Vito Gadaleta, Township Business Manager, who assured us that the Construction Office will provide $5.00 permits for those involved in our town-wide sale as well as any subsequent group sales. Remember to tell them that you are with the band—er, you are with the group sale.
We have already broken the record for number of families participating. Currently we have 51 families involved. This is better than some other towns that have been doing town-wide sales for years.
You can sign up to be on our marketing list as late as Friday, May 9, until 9:00 p.m. If any of you want to pick up a list of addresses to copy and distribute to your customers, please stop by. This event is as much a social happening as a chance to get rid of stuff and make a few bucks. Contact us by email: Blogfinger@verizon.com.
For the list of participants, click on the Yard Sale tab at the top of this page. Watch for our posting of the list on Wednesday.
If any of you participants know of a place where you can place one or more of our fliers, please stop by 113 Mt. Hermon Way (corner Delaware) to pick some up. How about your church, your favorite shop including places you frequent in surrounding towns. We can use the help.
Thanks, Paul @Blogfinger
“Consider yourself one of the family.” From Oliver:
You have to ask Neptune Township if you want an answer.
Where is the $5.00 from each address going?
I also paid $10.00. I don’t see why those of us who paid ahead of the ruling should be penalized like this. Okay, so it’s only $5.00. Well, that’s money I’d rather have in my pocket than in the town coffers! If the township leaders wanted to be fair and considerate, they would give the refund.
One of the reasons I bought my permit early is because in the past, it was crowded at the desk and the women working there were less than helpful. When I got this year’s permit, was glad to see the improved attitude and efficiency. I guess that’s worth $5.00.
Still, think I’ll pop over there and plead my case. Maybe the township clerk will look upon me kindly and offer one of those cute floral pens as compensation.
Ken. If you are having a yard sale on Saturday, you can join the gang of fifty and let us list your address. But you must spend the $5.00 that you just saved by writing a check to Blogfinger and dropping it off at 113 Mt. Hermon Way. Send us a list of the items that you have for sale, and tell us the cross street nearest your house.
And, yes, I did get a permit, but it cost me $10.00 a few weeks ago, and there are no refunds. I’m annoyed that you got one for $5.00. So, it seems that he who hesitates is found. —-Paul
Picked up my $5.00 permit this morning.
Did you get yours?
