Blogfinger

Stumpy is the one footed gull who  has been a returning  South End  staple since the summer of  2008.  Stumpy goes by a  variety of names… The Wisdom Bench calls him “Lefty.” Other beach goers refer to him as “Peg” and “Daniel Day Lewis” (“My Left Foot”). My friends and I named him “Stumpy.”  The creator of Ralph also  created and  installed a  Christmas  Stumpy to give Ralph someone to talk to this winter.  —-William Heatley.

   The day after the snow, I ventured out to the end of the pier to snap a photo and approached so carefully as to not disturb the gull. I got the shot and the joke is on me!
