From the Neptune Township PD today, December 31, 2013:

There were several houses entered by unknown actors. The houses that were entered are located in the area between Mt. Hermon Way and Webb Ave.  The actors gained entry to the houses through windows and by prying open rear doors.

Keep your windows and doors locked.  Overnight keep your exterior lights on until the morning. If you see something suspicious call the police immediately via 9-1-

Michael Adam, NTPD, Neighborhood Watch

From John W. Higley:  (Citizen reporter and photog.)

“From the porch at #79, just came home to this, was told it was only a CO2 alarm gone off.”

From Eileen @Blogfinger:  A man was seen walking west on Heck Avenue looking into the windows of every car he passed.  He was white wearing a dark hoody and a red jacket.  She spotted a Neptune Twp police car on Main near Firemen’s Park,  She gave him her eyewitness report and then he drove off in the direction of Heck Ave.

I don’t know the answer to that Paul but I can tell you I was walking the dog on Broadway this afternoon around 3 PM when two police cars pulled up and checked a house…I started my walk up Abbott and then across to Broadway ….I did not see anything… So maybe they did not catch them…I also wish the Neptune Police would be more forthcoming ….

We live on Abbott and observed this morning when we got up that a house behind us, which fronts Broadway, had its rear porch door (of a closed-in porch) wide open. Pretty sure the owner wouldn’t do that. House seemed empty. We called the police and they came out. But, like others, we did not hear back about what they found.

Neptune should be more forthcoming concerning the level of crime in Ocean Grove. As residents of Ocean Grove we should have reasonable access to facts concerning ALL crimes committed in Ocean Grove. Per recent comments by Sherry Sotnokoff of the OGCP, Neptune does not share this information with the hardworking and capable folks of the Ocean Grove Citizens Patrol.

Neptune is one of the few towns not providing crime related data to the Coaster. I am sure Blogfinger suffers from the same news blackout. Yes, I have seen more police cruisers in our crime ridden area of town this weekend. What have been the results of the patrols? How do you confirm the “rumor” that there have been two arrests without the cooperation of Neptune Township???

Did these two miscreants commit all of the recent break and entries? If they did and it can be confirmed, we can all rest a little easier in 2014.
