Theatre at the Jersey Shore Arts Center (jerseyshoreartscenter.org)
Last year we organized the 1st Annual Blogfinger Film Festival. The event was a success, but we were disappointed that relatively few people were able to attend due to the small venue. So we were determined that we could invite a large audience in 2013.
This year we will be holding the Festival on Sunday afternoon, May 5, in the theatre at the Jersey Shore Arts Center. Once again we will be showing short movies made by film students—this time from universities in New York City and New Jersey. The films have not been selected yet, but we are striving for the best quality among that genre.
Tickets will be sold at $10.00 each, and it will be a fundraiser to support the CMA fund to rebuild the Ocean Grove boardwalk.
Plans are just now unfolding, so mark your calendars. More information will be forthcoming. You will be able to purchase tickets at the JSAC, on the Internet, by check (mail) or that night at the box office. We will be seeking sponsors (businesses and merchants) who will be mentioned in the programs and on our website. Also we will mention “patrons” who want to help us financially. We will have to meet expenses before we contribute the rest to the boardwalk fund.
Everyone involved is enthusiastic about this event, and we expect a big crowd. Marlee Roberts, the beautiful and talented actress/producer from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts will be working closely with the Blogfinger staff to make our festival a huge success. We also will be assisted by Mr. Brendon Kelly, program director at the Jersey Shore Arts Center and by Mr. Herb Herbst, JSAC Director. You can also be part of the excitement by planning to attend.
