Esplanade du Trocadéro. Paris. Peter Turnley. 2012. Sent to us by Leica Camera. Re-post by Blogfinger.net
By Paul Goldfinger, Editor, Blogfinger.net
I am sharing this post with our readers because some of you know that I love”street photography” especially images from another era when cameras were simple, film was used, and photographers searched for subjects whose images told a story.
The quote below is from this greeting sent to me by Wetzlar the German optics company that makes Leica Cameras., and those photographers who check out Blogfinger.net know that I use Leica cameras and lenses exclusively, and I have done so for about 50 years.
This photograph was taken by Peter Turnley in 2012 at the Esplanade du Trocadéro in Paris:
Below is what the Leica company said to me:
“The motif emphasizes elegance, harmony, and togetherness. May this image remind us that understanding, tolerance, and empathy are bridges that connect people across the whole world.
“We wish you a contemplative holiday season, with lovely moments of light and joy – and a New Year full of confidence, creativity, and incredible encounters.”
With warm greetings

Peter Turnley and his twin brother have been photographers for about 50 years, and they have won many awards. Peter has lived in Paris for many years, and having photographed in Paris, I can understand why he loves to photograph there.
Here is one of my favorite Paris images from the 1980’s.
