NBC News reports, “Drinking caffeinated coffee is safe for people with atrial fibrillation and may help protect against recurrence of the disorder, a new study finds.”
MedPage Today reports that investigators found that “coffee drinkers had a significant decrease in the clinically detected recurrence of Afib or atrial flutter compared with peers assigned to abstain from coffee and caffeine in the 200-person study.” Meanwhile, “when it came to recurrence of Afib only, the coffee consumption group similarly had the advantage.” The findings were presented at the American Heart Association meeting and published in JAMA.
